Mashed Peas – Thermomix
Ingredients

500 g frozen peas

30 g butter
-
1–2 tbsp cream or milk (optional)

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

Optional: pinch of sugar, mint, or lemon zest
Method

Cook peas
Place peas in the mixing bowl.
Cook 8 min / 100°C / speed 1.
Drain using the simmering basket and set peas aside. -
Mash
Return peas to the bowl.
Add butter, cream (if using), salt, and pepper.
Mash 10–15 sec / speed 4 (for chunky)
or 20–30 sec / speed 5 (for smoother). -
Taste & adjust
Adjust seasoning. Add mint or lemon zest if desired. -
Serve
Serve immediately.
Tips

For British-style mushy peas, soak dried marrowfat peas overnight (different method available if you want it)

Don’t overblend or they’ll go gluey
-
Butter + a little cream gives the best texture
Variations
-
Minted peas: Add 1 tbsp fresh mint leaves before mashing

Garlic peas: Add ½ clove garlic (very mild)

Vegan: Use olive oil instead of butter
