-
100 ml milk
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
-
1 teaspoon baking powder
-
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Thermomix
Grease a heatproof steaming tin that fits inside your Varoma tray. Set aside.
Step 2: Mix the Batter
-
Place eggs and sugar in the Thermomix bowl. Beat for 2 minutes / 37°C / speed 4, until light and frothy.
-
Add melted butter, milk, and vanilla. Mix 10 seconds / speed 3.
-
Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix 20 seconds / speed 4 until a smooth batter forms.
Step 3: Create the Marble Effect
-
Transfer half of the batter into another bowl.
-
Add cocoa powder to one half and fold gently with a spatula until combined.
Step 4: Layer the Batter
Alternate spoonfuls of vanilla and chocolate batter into the prepared steaming tin. Use a skewer or knife to swirl lightly for a marbled effect.
Step 5: Steam the Cake
-
Fill the Thermomix bowl with 500 ml water.
-
Place the Varoma tray with the cake tin on top. Cover with the Varoma lid.
-
Steam for 35–40 minutes / Varoma temperature / speed 2. Check doneness with a skewer—it should come out clean.
Step 6: Cool and Serve
Remove the cake from the Varoma and allow it to cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with chocolate.
